About the Artist

Gabby Jones

Gabby Jones

I paint the way people feel—not just what they see.
Every brushstroke is a conversation between realism and abstraction, where color becomes emotion and form becomes memory.

My work lives in the space between the tangible and the imagined. I'm drawn to the quiet moments—the way light catches on skin, how shadows hold secrets, the stories we carry in our bodies. I translate these fragments of everyday life into visual poetry, mixing bold color with delicate detail, grounding surreal imagery in human truth.

My creative process is intuitive and layered. I begin with observation—a gesture, a feeling, a fleeting expression—and let it evolve on the canvas. Sometimes it's watercolor bleeding into ink. Sometimes it's graphite meeting gold leaf. Always, it's about honoring the raw, unfiltered experience of being human.

I believe art should make people feel seen.
Not just understood, but witnessed. Held. Reflected back with tenderness and truth.

"Art is how I translate emotion into color."

Artist Statement

"Every color has a pulse — my job is to listen to it."

I see art as a balance between chaos and calm, emotion and precision. My work exists in the tension between control and surrender—where careful observation meets wild intuition. I'm fascinated by how a single brushstroke can hold both structure and spontaneity, how color can be both deliberate and instinctive. For me, creating is about finding harmony in contradiction: the way softness can be powerful, the way stillness can be electric. I don't try to tame the chaos—I dance with it. And in that dance, something honest emerges.

Artistic Approach

Materials

Watercolor, ink, graphite, and mixed media on paper. I work with layers—building depth through transparency, texture, and time.

Process

Intuitive and exploratory. I start with feeling, not form. Sketches become paintings. Paintings become stories. Each piece unfolds organically.

Inspiration

Everyday life. The way people move through the world. Nature as metaphor. Dreams, memories, and the spaces between words.

Philosophy

Art is a mirror and a window. It reflects who we are while showing us who we might become. I create to connect, to heal, to make visible what often goes unseen.
